About the event
Introducing Ahead Of The Game Foundation’s Fully Funded Online Cancer Caregivers Support Group!
Navigating the path of caring for a loved one battling cancer can be a profound and emotionally demanding journey. At Ahead Of The Game Foundation, we honour the crucial role caregivers play in the lives of those diagnosed with cancer. That’s why we’re delighted to unveil our monthly 1-hour online support groups, meticulously crafted to support and uplift cancer caregivers.
Facilitated by Louis, our esteemed wellbeing partner from The Wellbeing Campus, who brings over a decade of experience in delivering transformative mindfulness courses and support groups. Louis brings to the table not only a deep understanding of mindfulness but also a wealth of experience working with individuals struggling with their mental health as well those facing a cancer diagnosis.
What to expect:
• Interactive Sessions: Our sessions are designed to be fluid and adaptable, allowing participants to join as they can. At each gathering, attendees will have the opportunity to bring up topics they wish to explore in relation to the challenges of being a caregiver. Anyone can introduce a topic, and attendees can share their personal feelings in relation to this, or sit and soak it all in.
• Mindfulness Practices: Louis will guide attendees through a short mindfulness “Checking-in” practice at the beginning of each session, setting a foundation of presence and compassion.
• Supportive Discussions: Led by a designated timekeeper, each participant will have the space to share their experiences without interruption or judgment. This format fosters deep listening, validation, and empathy among group members.
• Closure with Mindfulness: As we conclude our time together, Louis will lead us in a closing mindfulness practice, allowing us to integrate our shared experiences and cultivate a sense of inner peace and resilience.
We acknowledge that cancer impacts not only the individual diagnosed but also their entire support network. Our support group is dedicated to offering caregivers the nurturing space and understanding they deserve.
Join us on this journey of support and connection. Because no caregiver should ever feel alone on their path.
